06/21/2007 - Antarktos Rising is on the way! This highly anticipate third release from Jeremy Robinson is being promoted, by the author, through a series of viral videos, 10 in all. His goal is to promote an Amazon.com bestseller campaign, meaning everyone planning to buy the book does so on August 1, the book's release date. If you want to check out the videos, you can see them on Youtube, here or at his personal website, here.

05/08/07 - OK, remember in the last news tidbit where we mentioned we were full up for books to be released in 2007? If not, it's the next one down. Well, we lied. Sort of. Actually, one book from the previous 2007 line-up has been pulled (for very good reasons!) and the gap was quickly filled by our newest (and really last) book for 2007, an amazing fantasy story titled THE CHRONICLES OF ANAEDOR - THE PROPHECIES by Kristina Schram. We're not only excited to be publishing this truly rich story, but also because Kristina is our first woman author! Hurray, Kristina!

In other news:

• Raising the Past by Jeremy Robinson is currently a semi-finalist for the IPPY Awards in the Science Fiction category.

• Violent Sands may soon have a sweet, foreign subsidiary deal (more on that as it develops).

• New covers have been posted for Catalyst and Anaedor. Check them out!

04/19/07 - Lots of big news happening! Breakneck Books has signed on, three, count them, three new authors. The first is NY Times Bestselling author, Rick Hautala. His horror novel, MOON WALKER, will be the very first Breakneck Redo book! We're pleased to have such a reputable author in the stable. Next is Paul Byers with his page-turning, dog fighting, World War Two thriller, CATALYST. And last, but certainly not least, an amazing near future thriller involving a lunar conspiracy and a global crisis,  RED MOON  by David Michaels and Daniel Brenton. All three books represent some of the finest thrillers we've ever read.

What does all this mean? Redo is officially off the ground and we're looking forward to receiving more  Redo submissions. But at the same time, our need for new books/authors is satiated for the rest of 2007! This means submissions will be closed for at least the next few months. Egad. This will allow us to focus more on the books we've already have out and those to be released in 2007.

Check back soon for cover images, author bios and other information about these three new titles.

04/03/07 - The Land that Time Forgot by Edgar Rice Burroughs and Master of the World by Jules Verne, our first two Breakneck Classics, will be available on April 10th, 2007! These special editions come with some great extras. See the classics page for details.

03/30/07 - The Ascension by Michael G. Cornelius is now available for purchase! This is a frightening horror story touted by horror master, A.J. Mathews (bestselling author of Follow and Unbroken)  as "a dark and dangerous book with suspense and surprises aplenty to keep you reading and guessing right up to the last page. A remarkable novel.”

02/14/07 - Good news! Valentines day has been cancelled... Just kidding. Actually, Breakneck is announcing two new lines of books in addition to our current line-up of new novels. They are:

Breakneck Redo - We'll be giving a second lease on life to previously published, now out-of-print books. Large publishers are using print-on-demand technology to keep their OOP books available, only now they have competition. We've just started seeking out OOP books and expect to release five in 2007.

Breakneck Classics - Action/Adventure didn't start with James Rollins or Michael Crichton. It began with guys like Edgar Rice Boroughs, Jules Verne,  H.G. Wells, etc... Breakneck will be publishing these classics thrillers, giving them fantastic new designs and including material designed to aid in group discussions, perfect for schools.

The website has been reworked to reflect these changes. If you're interested in either, please see the links above for more information, submission procedures and more. We expect to have our first books, for both lines, out before the summer. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks.

01/31/07 -
Forge of the Gods is now available to pre-release sales. Check out the video trailer and read the first three chapters online. We promise you won't be able to put this one down!

• Breakneck has brought on two new readers and we're catching up on submissions, so our doors are once again open. See the submissions page for more information.

01/15/07 - Breakneck finished off 2006 (our first year...really half a year) with a bang. Sales for our books in December were fantastic. Now, only weeks into the new year and Breakneck has a slew of good news. Here is a list!

• Breakneck signed with Jeremy Robinson again to publish his third novel, Antarktos Rising, about which James Rollins said, "With Antarktos Rising , Robinson opens a new dark continent of terror. Trespass at your own risk."

Breakneck has signed with James Somers, yet again, to publish the second book in the Chronicles of Soone trilogy--The Rise of Lucin. You've just got to love that sinister cover!

• Breakneck has signed with Craig Alexander, a first time author of an amazing thriller involving prophetic dreams and a terrorist plot, The Nineveh Project. Move over Ludlum, scoot aside Joel C. Rosenberg, there's a new guy on the scene!

• Breakneck has partnered with  Charity Heller Hogge at Mighty Pen Editing. She has become our lead editor and we're very excited to be working with her.

12/05/06 - Video trailers are now available for all of our titles. They've been viewed thousands of times already and we're thrilled with the quality. The most recently posted trailers are for Forge of the Gods and The Ascension.

11/29/2006 - Breakneck author, James Somers has received a wonderful review for his book, The Chronicles of Soone from fantasybookspot.com!
Click here to read an excerpt on the book's info page or visit fantasybookspot.com for the full review. Congratulations, James!

11/24/2006 - Violent Sands, The Chronicles of Soone and Raising the Past have now all been released. All are selling fantastically and all reviews are glowing. We're proud of our fledgling titles and are happy to announce that we have finished out the year! Our next releases will come in 2007 with Forge of the Gods in February, followed by The Ascension in March.

10/26/06 - Breakneck has signed on author Michael Cornelius and his newest novel, The Ascension. This is a pulse pounding thriller you're not going to be able to put down. Look for the book's description and cover design to make an appearance on the site in the next few weeks! Welcome aboard, Michael!

10/22/06 - The Chronicles of Soone is now available for pre-order on Amazon US as well as the international Amazon sites.

9/27/06 - Breakneck has signed on author Eric Fogle, who has written an epic fantasy novel, Forge of the Gods - The Last Knight. Fans of bestselling author, James Clemens will love this novel for its intelligence, unique universe and pulse pounding action. Look for cover images, an author interview and links to Eric's website in the near future!

7/8/06 - Cover designs have been completed for our two new novels, Violent Sands and The Chronicles of Soone! We're firm believers of judging books by their covers and as a result have put a lot of effort into these. We promise the books are just as good. Both books are due out this fall. Check out their individual pages for book descriptions cover close-ups. Author bios, photos and interviews for both Sean Young and James Somers are forthcoming.

06/27/2006 - Breakneck Books has acquired two new books and brought two new authors on board! James Somers is the author of The Chronicles of Soone, a science fiction thriller that makes Star Wars look like it's standing still. Sean Young is the author of Violent Sands, a historical thriller involving Jewish Zealots during the Roman occupation of Israel 2000 years ago. This one has more story and more action than you can shake a flagellum at! Both will be published by Breakneck in 2006. Author bios, interviews, and cover images are on the way!

06/22/2006 - POD People has been released! ...well sort of. The book has been officially approved and released. But it will take a few days to show up on Amazon and a few more weeks for all the other online bookstores. That said, it's just a matter of days now before the title will be available.

06/14/2006 - POD People is nearing completion. The first ARC is due in tomorrow. Once it's approved, the book will be released and should start appearing in the online stores by the end of the month!

06/05/2006 - Breakneck books is preparing to launch at the end of June with the publication of our first book, POD People - Beating The Print-On-Demand Stigma, by Jeremy Robinson. While this title is not fiction, it is a quick read! Jeremy Robinson has proven himself to be a top POD author (his first novel, The Didymus Contingency quickly became a Barnes&Noble.com and Amazon Canada bestseller) and his marketing and quality advice are pure gold. The book will serve as a Bible for our own online marketing efforts. More than that, that marketability of this book, written from an successful author who has been there and done that makes it a sure bet...and as a publisher, that's always a good thing! Of course, our second published book, due out this summer, is Jeremy Robinson's second novel, Raising The Past.

We are also now seeking out new authors. If your novel is a thriller and incorporates bits of the fantastic (no courtroom, detective or crime stories please) we would like to hear from you. Please visit our submissions page for more information. We hope to announce some new authors and future books in the next few months. Stay tuned!
